POSTOPERATIVE ATRIAL MONITORING
A clearer atrial signal, continuously at the bedside
AtriAmp connects temporary atrial pacing wires to a compatible bedside monitor, providing continuous access to intra-cardiac atrial signals while supporting pacing when needed.
Surface ECG may not show the full rhythm story
THE CLINICAL CHALLENGE
Following cardiac surgery, identifying atrial activity can be difficult when P waves are small, obscured or difficult to distinguish on the surface ECG. Atrial electrograms can provide additional information to help clinicians differentiate postoperative rhythms, but conventional acquisition methods may offer only a brief view of the atrial signal.⁴,⁵,⁷
of patients with congenital heart disease may experience an arrhythmia following cardiac surgery¹
CONTINUOUS ATRIAL ELECTROGRAMS
Continuous access to the atrial signal
AtriAmp connects temporary atrial pacing wires to a compatible bedside ECG monitor, making the atrial electrogram continuously available alongside the surface ECG. When pacing is needed, AtriAmp also supports connection to a compatible external pacemaker.³,⁴
Monitor continuously. Pace when needed.
AtriAmp brings the atrial signal into the existing bedside monitoring environment without requiring a separate monitor.³
Greater accuracy and confidence in postoperative rhythm identification
In a prospective observational study, 88 pediatric cardiology and critical-care providers evaluated postoperative rhythms using surface ECG alone and the same rhythms with an atrial electrogram obtained through AtriAmp. Access to the AtriAmp signal significantly increased the accuracy and confidence of provider rhythm identification.¹
Provider rhythm-identification accuracy increased significantly with the AtriAmp signal compared with surface ECG alone.¹
Provider confidence increased significantly when interpreting rhythms with the AtriAmp signal.¹
The most significant increases in diagnostic accuracy were observed for junctional ectopic tachycardia, sinus tachycardia and complete heart block.¹
In a separate qualitative study of 14 early adopters in a pediatric intensive care unit, clinicians described accelerated time from an arrhythmia event to diagnosis and treatment, greater confidence and improved education about postoperative arrhythmias. These findings reflect provider perceptions and were not measured as comparative clinical outcomes.²
Bring the atrial signal to the monitor already at the bedside
HOW ATRIAMP WORKS
AtriAmp acts as a connection hub between temporary atrial pacing wires, a compatible bedside ECG monitor and, when needed, an external pacemaker. This makes the atrial electrogram continuously available on the bedside monitor while allowing simultaneous pacing.³
Connect the atrial pacing wires
Attach the patient’s temporary atrial pacing wires to AtriAmp.
Connect the bedside monitor
Connect AtriAmp to a compatible Type CF, defibrillation-proof ECG monitor through a unipolar precordial lead.
View the atrial signal continuously
Display the atrial electrogram on the bedside monitor, with connection to an external pacemaker available when pacing is needed.

POSTOPERATIVE ATRIAL MONITORING
Bring continuous atrial information to the bedside
Learn how AtriAmp can support postoperative rhythm identification within your cardiac-care program.
Indications for Use The AtriAmp supports pacing by acting as an extension cable between an external pacemaker and cardiac pacing leads. The AtriAmp also supports monitoring of intra-cardiac signals by transmitting signals to one of the unipolar precordial chest leads (leads V1–V6) of a Type CF, defibrillation-proof ECG monitor. Prescription use only.
